I feel cheated

Post by Warthog »

This season had so much promise. We talked of being undefeated and going to a BCS Bowl. We talked of a MAC Championship. We had so much talent. Now, we sit here and I wonder if we will win another game this year. We could end up 4-7, and 5-6 is very, very likey. I feel like I have been cheated. I put so much time in supporting this team and now I feel like a fool.

I always feel like people are laughing at me. Sometimes I feel like they are laughing louder, though. This is one of those times. :P

Oh humor, how you save me from myself! :?

Oh and somebody let me know when we're gonna have another home game this year, cuz the Doyt was obviously owned by Akron today...at least some of the Akron fans got some bottles thrown at them when they decided to get cocky!

Feeling extremely frustrated and having trouble keeping my cool on here. With that I'll retire to my favorite drink to help me calm down!

I know what you mean. I feel like an idiot for thinking we were going to be so good. I don't understand how we got bad so quick. We looked like the team I expected for the first 30 minutes of the season. It makes me so mad to look bad and realize what we are capable of. I am baffled by this season.

One answer. On the post-game show, Coach Brandon said "we're not a very good fundamental football team right now." And that's coaching and preperation, and its a failure of the coaching staff.

Yep, thats pretty much the main underlying problem. Anyone wish Urban was still here? Urban brough the kind of mental toughness that we are losing right now. He didn't coach nicy nice, he didn't want nice players , but players that expect to dish out the pain. Our whole mental attitude is totally out of whack. Throw in a injury to probably the 2nd or 3rd best qb in the nation and we're toast.

A friend of mine so subtly warned me about this and I somewhat dismissed it out of hand. This Ohio St. friend of mine said early in Coach Brandon days as HC , guys were starting to test him. Like how, I don't know but it seems to have been a slow leak from the very beginning.

I will NEVER be ashamed to root and cheer for my team. Doesn't matter who what when where why or how. I grew up a Michigan fan deep in Buckeye Country. You learn quick how too cheer and keep a firm upper lip under any situation.

That being said, I am looking for someone's shoulder to cry on tonight. Akron??? The same team that couldn't do crap with Charlie Fry last year??? I am too much in shock tonight to really comprehend what just happened over the last 4 hours. Expect every game to be close, even the supposed "gimmie" games. So I'm not surprised that this was a close game. However this is another in what is becoming a long line of "Coulda Woulda Shoulda"s.

I'm sorry. I'm in too much shock and disbelief to really write anything coherent (sp) right now. I think I'm off to find someone cute to cry on, and perhaps indulge in copious (sp) amounts of alcohol.

That's your own fault. Don't set the hopes too high, you'll always be in for a let down.

20-9...and yes. Hence why I said my comment. It came from experience :D

I don't know that I feel cheated....I 'm pretty disappointed with the way the team has played, but I don't feel cheated.

We have a pretty good group of seniors who have seen their last year get wasted....and that's partly their fault because they didn't provide the leadership. They should feel cheated

We have a coaching staff that wasted a pretty good group of seniors by not preparing them to play mentally or physically. We're getting manhandled by teams that aren't as talented as we are when it counts. We don't think we can force the issue when it counts and at this juncture, we probably can't physically.

We fumbled on 4th and goal, they pounded it home....that's the simplest way to put it. The coaches should feel cheated, too.

The people in charge of the program and the players like to talk about what a great family atmosphere we have here. That's a really easy mind set to espouse when things are going well and you aren't facing any adversity. We'll see if the players and coaches have what it takes to honestly assess the situation and fix it for next year. That will be a far bigger test of Gregg Brandon as a head coach than anything he's faced here to date.
