OMAR in Sports Illustrated: On Campus

Post by thewebboy »

Hey everybody,

I was checking out the lastest issue of SI:OC and guess who's the featured athlete for this week. :) That's right, everybody's favorite dreadlocked QB, Omar! Best of all, HE'S SMILING !!

I went ahead and scanned it in for all of you to see. I know this season isn't going exactly how we all planned, but it is nice to see BG (and Omar) get more exposure.

ps. this issue was for October 27th for those who are wondering

Those are the best published photos of Omar I've seen so far.

Good Q&A...great responses. Very cool overall.

Thanks for sharing!

Those smiles brought back all the good memories of the past few years that seem to have been clouded over in the last couple weeks. :D

No offense to AT but I believe Omar staying another year will be great for the program. AT can learn more under him and Omar will still be able to run the offense, although maybe not as talent filled, will surely be able to move the ball.

This article was in Sports Illustrated: On Campus. It is a seperate magazine that focuses only on college sports and is only distributed to college students on their campuses. Thats why you didn't see it in your SI last week.

I actually distribute the Sports Illustrated: On Campus magazine as part of an internship I have with Sports Illustrated.

I have about 20 extra copies that I could bring to the Kent game this Saturday for anyone that wants a copy. I could try to sneak them into the game or I could try to find some of you outside the stadium tailgating before the game.

Just let me know if I should bring them, it's no trouble at all :)

Hey, I am making the trip to Kent on Saturday, and would love to have a copy. I hopefully will be getting to the parking lot by 12:30 PM. Thanks.

So webboy, where do you distribute these? I am a stringer for them and have yet to see a magazine anywhere on campus. They used to be in the paper but that seemed to have stopped this year. Kind of sucks not getting to see info you send them in the actual magazine.

They cut the budget this past year so they are no longer inserted into the BG news. Also they only run bi-weekly now. However, right now we have been passing them out around 2 pm by the Education Building every other Thursday (next week is the next issue). We are in the process of getting a table in the union as a permanent site to pass them out at. I think once something is set in stone we will advertise it in the BG news to get the word out. I'll try to let you know with a PM or something.

BGSUFootballFan,
Chances are they still have them on your campus they are just distributing them differently now. I'm not sure how you could find out where, but I know they have them on your campus because we have reps there.

I'd like to see a copy of that on Saturday! We should be there by 11:45.
