Nick Davis? It's about time our undersized D-linemen found a sport they can play.falconboy wrote:I'm going to guess...Germainfitch1 wrote:Anyone have a guess at who will start game 1?

I am assuming you meant Nick Wilson, but I couldn't resist.

People might think im crazy but.....
1 Robinson
2 Floyd
3 Soler
4 Marschall
5 Lefeld

3 Soler
4 Marschall
5 Lefeld
I don't see Samarco playing the point. He's a definite SG to me. Wright could easily move to SF when he gets healthy and Soler and Marschall could split the PF position.

1. Robinson
2. Samarco
3. Soler
4. MarCshall
5. Lefeld
...with Sullivan getting heavy minutes in the post as well.
When Wright, Rad, and Moten become availabe, it'll be interesting to see what happens at the point. If the latter two are as good as advertised, well,... in years past DD has expressed interest in running an offense w/o a true point guard. I could see a three guard offense consisting of Wright, Samarco, and Moten, none of whom would be a true PG, but among the three of the PG duties would be handled.

One thing I can say about Coach Dakich is he will switch the starting line up. Only on the teams with good records did we see a consistant starting five. I would bet that the starting line up would switch between now and game time based on what happens in practice. With this young team I would expect to see some kind of change almost every game or two.

That seems logical to me.commonsense wrote:One thing I can say about Coach Dakich is he will switch the starting line up. Only on the teams with good records did we see a consistant starting five. Not true. Even when doing well Dakich would randomly start odd lineups.. I remember when Jeremy King (I think that was his first name)commonsense wrote:One thing I can say about Coach Dakich is he will switch the starting line up. would all of a sudden start or Seth Doliboa (remember him) When neither seemed to have any business our there.
My favs who left. Austin? Forget his first name. He came for a year and then jetted. Looked great in a scrimmage Big man who would be great for this team now.
Doliboa. I thought he was a stud.

Floyd - started at point last year and was a top assist guy in the MAC. Why change?
Wright & Smarco - I know, 3 (small) guards. But these two are going to be the best scorers on the team. With the loss of Almonson and Riemond, Dan needs guys that can put the ball in the hole. The more playing time these two get, the better. Until Wright comes back, I put in whoever has the hot hand and/or can create shots. (Safe bet that Wright leads the team in PPG this year?)
Soler - Defense, hustle and toughness. Got to start him (although he was great off the bench last year).
Lefeld - Um... he's 6'11". Clean the glass big man!
That would be two seniors and three juniors. I like it. They are going to need all that experience.
