Here's the scoop from the Athletic Department:
Pope Invited to Play In Hula Bowl
Senior running back will be first-ever Falcon to play in event
Waco, Texas - Bowling Green State University senior running back P.J. Pope has accepted an invitation to play in the 2006 Hula Bowl All Star Football Classic which will take place January 21 in Honolulu. He is the first BGSU player ever invited to play in the all-star game in Hawaii.
The invitation was extended by a committee overseen by the American Football Coaches Association.
"We've been pleased with our involvement with the Hula Bowl," AFCA Executive Director Grant Teaff said. "It gives us an opportunity to honor deserving head coaches and players from all levels of the NCAA and NAIA with an invitation to play or coach in what we consider one of the best all-star events in college football."
Pope, who has battled injuries all season, is the third all-time rusher in BGSU history with 2,861 yards and ranks second in career all-purpose yards at 3,970 and third in TDs at 40. A two-time All-MAC selection and Doak Walker candidate, he has averaged 5.4 yards per carry, the second-highest average ever for a Falcon.
Pope going to Hawaii!

Congrats
Congratulations to Pope! He's one of only two falcons that I wouldn't have minded seeing in the midnight blue and gold. Hopefully he puts on a good show there.
UT is listed in the 2004 edition of The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges by Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili as one of the U.S. schools with the “Most Beautiful Urban Campus.”

Let's hope it turns out better than the Josh Harris/Lance Moore combo in Browns camp.Touchdown Rockets wrote:Congratulations to Pope! He's one of only two falcons that I wouldn't have minded seeing in the midnight blue and gold. Hopefully he puts on a good show there.
