yes, but only in the bars in the club level. i'd have to think that the club seats nor the suites will be open for the game.

I don't expect the suites will be open, but it does say that the club seats are $50 on the bgsufalcons.com release.

Noel, I don't think I've ever had the Christmas ale. When I did a tour there in early September they said that was all they were brewing at the moment and that it is one of their most popular beers of the year.

Personally, I'm a HUGE GL fan. As far as Microbrews go I don't think you'll find a better, more consistent, brewery. They regularly rate very high on many beer rating websites, and they've won a lot of awards. Dortmunder was originally under a different name, in fact, but when the namesake complained they renamed it, and chose to call it gold for all the Gold medals it's won.

As for my fave, it depends on what I want. My faves are probably Eliot Ness & Dortmunder, but I like lagers, and that's one place I haven't been able to venture into making my own yet. But if I want a pale ale then I like Burning River. I'm not a huge porter fan, but Edmund Fitzgerald is a pretty good example of it. Still wish I could've found that Nosferatu though

If you head to the brewery they also have other beers on tap (2-3) that are not bottled. It's definitely worth checking out. We'll have to hit it up after the game or something next year Noel. It's just outside of downtown and well worth the stop!

Finding it at a store is kind of like finding a small fortune. This is the reason that it is nearly impossible to find outside of the Cleveland area (much to my consternation while living in Bowling Green).

Heck, the family of one of my best friends owns the company that distributes GL and I still have a hard time getting a hold of it!

Oh, and if you do find it, drink it slooooow. It has something like 8.8% alcahol content, but it always, always feels stronger.

I was in Anderson's yesterday and they had it stacked 5 foot tall in a nice little pyramid. I'm pretty sure I saw it at the BG Meijer this past weekend as well.

Anderson's also had their sampler pack. I think that has Dortmunder, Eliot Ness, Burning River, and a White Ale; I could be wrong on that exact combo though.

Hearing all the great reviews of the Christmas ale, I might have to pick some up before the holidays are over.

In my experience the suites are open to the rightful ticket holder for any event in a stadium. A couple years ago I watched BG play at the Gund in a Suite. With some/most of the suites they are "yours" and you are entitled to the suite for whatever event is taking place at the venue- from football to monster trucks to rolling stones. Granted the Suites cost tens of thousands of dollars a year.

If you know someone who's company has a suite at CBS there might not be a high demand for their company to go to the BG-Wisconsin game and you might be able to snag some sweet suite seats.

It looks like I'll have to break my "Don't touch Cleveland with a ten-foot pole" rule once again for the sake of BG athletics. Wisconsin is going to be one hell of a team next year though, assuming Bielema can pick up the reigns. It'll be a tall order to beat that team even away from CR.

That is wonderful news! Apparently they are widening the distribution of CA, and its about friggin' time! If GL could somehow (or maybe they already have) subcontract brewing rights in order to get more on the market during the holiday season, they could make a fortune. A HUGE fortune!

All I want to know is, why did they start doing this as soon as I moved out of state?

yeah, i had considered that. in 2001 i saw N'Sync at the stadium from a suite. i worked for an owner/operator of about 20 mcdonald's in the canton area, and he has a suite. it also netted me a great spot to see the browns a few times, and best yet, some pretty good food (especiall the dessert cart). at the stadium, the suites are available to their owners for any stadium event, but, you have to obviously pay the ticket fees, and for the catering for the game day.

and tens of thousands is a figure shy of the yearly cost for the 300 level suites at browns stadium.

i have a buddy that's a brewer at great lakes. GL beers aren't pasteurized, so they have to be shipped refrigerated, that's why teh distribution area is limited. in fact, he one drove two kegs of dortmunder, on ice, to chicago, for someone who wanted the beer for a party and was willing to pay for a guy to drive it to him.
better yet, employees get the unevenly filled bottles for free, so he was always getting me free beer.

Suite ownership=all access. Back when I was first dating my wife, we'd get the occasional freebie for the corporate suite at the palace in Auburn Hills. I was lucky enough to see events ranging from NBA hoops to Hank Williams Jr (and the circus).

They had a suite at Jacobs Field too...man, I miss those days of corporate largesse

A single game suite is 10k 11k vs pittsburgh.
My guess is mostly the same as that stated, where by my only thought of difference would be in optimistic the event of a near sell out.
( which could happen considering WI fans have a lot to be excited about, and regional had no chance to see them play this season.) Should that happen, my feeling is a lot of things more interesting than suites opening up would happen.

FYI, Great Lakes is a CLEVELAND beer. The game against Wisky is in Cleveland next year.
