The Falcons fall to Radford 81-63
A very tough loss after a great win against Va Tech.
Was it the fatigue from playing 3 games in 4 days? An emotional let down after a big win?
Anyone have any thoughts on the game

The team seemed tired...
3 games in 3 days...
early in the season...
and a late night, post-game, 2 hour practice in which Dakich took out us anger for getting tossed out of the game on the team.
They should be tired.

Not sure if you can say fatigue was a factor because I think Radford played after us yesterday. It was a very up and down three games. A possitive to take from the weekend. These guys know they can beat anyone, it will be a confidence builder for them for the rest of the season. We also see that they can beat by anyone, but at the same time many of them saw their first division one experience.

Radford did play the 3pm game on Saturday and Radford played the 7pm game on Thursday... but they didnt have an 11:30pm practice or get their butts run off on Thursday night after they played. When else is this team going to play 3 games in 4 days? Maybe in the MAC tourney! Let's hope they get there.

Nope. Dakich did what he needed to do to motivate this young team and let them now that the performance against WCU was unacceptable. They responded against Va tech, and then had a classic letdown game against Radford.KingSmokey wrote:4 teams played 3 games in 4 days...
1 team had butt-kicking practice (they ran stairs at Cassel Coliseum from midnight until 2am)
All I am asking is did Dakich's decision to take his anger about getting tossed out of the game out on the team cost them fresh legs in game 3 of the tourney?
For this young and injured squad, I'd say the tournament was a success, largely due to Dakich.

Even if the extra session played a factor in today's loss, it's better to get the point about working hard and staying focused now than in the middle of the conference schedule.
A more likely explanation is that this is exactly the kind of up and down performance we should expect from a team with so many new faces, but I wasn't there so I don't know...
