I have a seminar from 3:30-6:00 tomorrow night and the game is on at 5:00 here out west. My inclination is to leave class early to get home in time to see the game, but I am stubbornly superstitious and do not feel as though this would be a good omen. At the same time, I will not be focusing on anything going on in class because I will be nervous thinking about the game. Furthermore, the class itself is generally pointless. It is a readings seminar in 20th century U.S. history, but most classes devlove into a confounding and one-sided discussion on neo-conservatism.
What would you do?
From the halls of ivy...
It is not my intention to do away with government. It is rather to make it work - work with us, not over us; stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it. ~Ronald Reagan

Hell yes Matt- leave early. We are a fast start team (think Wisky) and you don't want to miss it. How about the Falcon roar when Omar takes the field? You know the 3rd quarter is not the fun quarter for the Falcons!
Tell them you have things to do and you'll stop back at halftime....
Wow, you kind of remind me of my first year of graduate school. Thinking that class shouldn't be skipped and all. My advice take off early.
I'm taking off so early that in fact, I'm not even going to work tomorrow. I should be running some sort of experiment and preparing for my one on one with my mentor to evalute my progress on friday, but I'm not. I'm going to stand in the rain and drink beer, before standing in rain to watch the game.
You should go to class. I endorse skipping class to go to the actual game, but not to watch on TV. Must draw a line somewhere, even if it's completely arbitrary.
i would say if it is not going to potentially hurt grade status then skip, but if you have even one question about the imact skiping out will have then dont skip
Its up to you. How is your grade in the class determined by? If he uses information in lectures on exams I would not miss the class. Game is on ESPN so you should have no problem recording it.

Bad omen? No way. I knocked off a liquor store the morning we beat Purdue, so it might just be good luck to skip class!
