Weather Problems-Game Question?
I just checked Oxford on weather.com and it shows a 60% chance of rain. I'm hopeful for a night that does not involve severe storms.Tech83 wrote:A weather update from the Noon Newscast....
Channel 7 - WHIO - here in Dayton - is still calling for heavy storms this evening. They also are warning of possible tornado watches due to the front coming through. 90% chance this evening/tonight.
Have fun - be careful.

Da weather
Reading the comments about weather and the fear that some of you have scares me a bit. If you were OSU, U of M, Notre Dame fans, you would still go, come hell, high water, or a blizzard.
Remember more people attended the famous 1950 Snow Bowl in Ohio Stadium than attend a BG home game when it is sunny and 75 degrees.
If you are a true fan, you won't wimp out because it "might rain." Don't get me wrong, lightning is serious business. I worked at a golf course that is also home to a PGA Tour event, and weather was an issue all the time, whether it was hot, cold, rain, etc. But to not go to a game because of the weather is a lame excuse. I heard it in college, and I hear it from todays students. If you love college football, and you love MAC football, then you will be there. No questions asked.
GO FALCONS! BEAT MIAMI!

If I was an OSU fan I'd have killed myself by now.

I think that's a little too simple. Even if I lived close enough to make it a one-day trip, I might be reticent to bring Noah out in those conditions. The GMAC Bowl was one thing - they knew it was pretty much going to be just a torrential downpour. Severe lightning and tornado watches are a whole different ballgame. And, quite frankly, if I couldn't take Noah, I probably wouldn't go, because as much as I love Falcon football, I'd rather sit at home and watch the game with my son than to be at a game without him.cbjhack wrote:If you love college football, and you love MAC football, then you will be there. Fellow Falcons:
I shan't be sitting on aluminum bleachers in row 50 if there's lightning cracking all around Yager...I will seek refuge in the nearest sorority house where I'm sure I'll be welcomed with beer, chicken wings and a front row seat to a live pillow fight.
But unless my life is in peril, I shall be sitting, soaked to the bone, and screaming for B-G-S-U.

I had to use 4 hours of vacation time yesterday and today since I was sick and now Jake is too. That leaves me roughly 4 1/2 vacation days. Enough for the UT game and MACC but unless we play in the MCB, any other bowl would be almost impossible.

Freak,
If we get an opp to go to a Bowl game your GOING!!!
So what if you get fired, I'll hire you over here...although it won't change your commute much. Besides you can fetch your new boss Starbucks everyday...which will give me more time on this board.
In regards to this Thread's subject - Game Question.
If the question is who is that youngster with an Orange #1 jersey at the end of the Motor City Bowl commercial....the answer is that's Legacy Boy!!
So Tune in, Turn On....just don't Drop Out (of the running for a MACC).
It's GAMETIME!

Didn't mean I wouldn't go.....just wondered what would happen!? Hey Anyone who has sat through the GMAC bowl is not afraid of rain. I just wondered what the heck they would do if they had lightning while the people were there? I bet BG people will outnumber Miami!!!!
ROLL ALONG!
As a follow up to my previous comments. I attended last evening and they moved everyone into Millett Hall 30 minutes prior to the game. The funny thing is, it wasn't raining. They said there was lightning, but no one saw anything. The closest was the high cloud "heat lightning" that you often see in the summer.
When the game started, it pooooooooorrrrrreeeeed!!!!!! However, most in attendance, were prepared. A bus load of students stuck around and supposedly the Falcon Club had a bus load, but other than parents of players, I didn't see anyone that might have been with that bus.
But back to my point of fan loyalty, over 50,000 people showed up to watch OSU play in the Snow Bowl game in 1950. And I know that Columbus is a lot bigger town than Oxford, so that is a key factor, but even the Oxford faithful didn't stick around. Allegedly 5,200 showed up last night. If there were a thousand people, that is even a strecth. I see more people at HS games than I do some BG games.
Sure it was a week night, sure it was a raining night, sure it was in Oxford, but where were all of the Dayton and Cincinnati area alumni? Heck, they could have driven home during the delay and come back for the game.
Fortunatelly the BG-UT game is near a sell-out. Sadly, most of the people in attendance will probably be UT fans. If you don't have your tickets, you better get them now!
