Exactly.

If there is a huge pay raise involved he'd be a fool to not consider the possibility. If he is considering the possibility he shouldn't be stating that he is not.

Personally, I don't think I'll cry over his loss quite like I did Urban's.
Hammb, I know you love Falcon football but did you really cry when Meyer left?
If by Cry you mean shout in anger, yes. As in tears, no.

Yeah, that's what I meant, the shout in anger one.

LOL, that's what I thought!

Seriously that was my saddest day as a BG sports fan. I thought sure we had him for one more season!

There is tons to do, I'm sure, but I'm not speaking of burlesque shows, recording artist retreads, magicians, nor animal acts.

Orchestras? Nope
Museums? Nope
Parks? There are a few.....I'm sure.
Watersports? couple hours away
Family activities? Mmmmmm, very very few - unless you count four wheeling through the desert.

Basically, Las Vegas comprises a bunch miserable people (which is how they act) whose job is catering to tourists. OH BOY! I wanna move my family there!

And yes, I have been there and have been bored out of my mind.

LOL.

I have been to Vegas, and loved every second of it. Cannot go back soon enough. I'm still not certain I would like to live there. As for orchestras and museums who cares?

Sorry, not into the high cultured stuff. I would be disappointed, however, in that UNLV is really the only game in town when it comes to live sporting events. Of course I'd probably be playing Hold 'em most of the time anyway...

I thought so too, hammb....I really thought Meyer would be back for 2003.

Oh yea, not many of these in BG either. So I guess Brandon really doesn't care about that stuff.

Come on guys Las Vegas is a great family atmosphere. Besides there's no way players could ever get in trouble in that kind of environment. You don't see this in Bowling Green...

That brings up a good recruiting issue. "Come on son, come to Bowling Green to see the corn fields and the wind blow" vs " Come on son, come to Sin City!" Seems alot easier to convince them to do the second one.

Unfortunately since having a family it's been quite some time. However, there is more to having an orchestra or museum (and museums are more than just building full of art) than mere attendance.

I find the presence of cultural activities within a city an indicator of other activities or pursuits. Parks, quality hospitals, zoos, sporting activities and teams, and etc.

Like I said, there isn't much to Las Vegas unless you're a tourist.

oandb has it right. Coach's statement today is OK especially if he WOULD consider the job. If he WOULD consider it, he should not make a true declarative statement. Rather, he should be forthright yet not overpromise then underdeliver.

rightupin, though I respect your well stated opinion, I have to say you are wrong on nearly all counts on Las Vegas/family/culture. I just had a family member live in Las Vegas and work in a nongaming job there- in other words, unlike most of us who visit for the gaming/LV strip entertainment, this person actually lived there.

In LV or within two hours drive, you will find some of the most beautiful and interesting natural sites/recreational areas in the country (Red Rock State Park, Valley Of Fire State Park, Zion National Park, Lake Mead, Death Valley National Park etc), several excellent museums (LV Art Museum), wonderful downhill skiing (Mt. Charleston, Brian Head, Utah and Mammoth, CA a little further), a well developed city/county park system, a symphony, etc. etc. Dodgers Tripe A team, minor league hockey and a super Arena Football franchise. Plus the chance to see all the national entertainment acts you could want to see. And UNLV has its own set of cultural attractions too including the Jerry Tarkanian Sure We Cheat But Just Try and Catch Us Hall of Fame (OK, kidding on that one).

Vegas has relatively low cost housing. Beautiful weather 8 months a year and a growing economy based on gaming, banking, defense and govt. UNLV fits in well there.

Having said that, there is only one reason to leave for a second fiddle western team- and they are definitely second fiddle. Money. And they have it. Two schools in the entire state. BG is a great job as Coach has said. Attendance is, and forever will be, an issue for UNLV football.

And why did I say WOULD in the first papragraph? Because as of this morning, as semistated by Paul Krebs, nobody from UNLV has contacted BG or Coach. Doesn't mean they won't, but, as of this morning, the LV paper is working on rumor and no contact had been made.

So let's beat Temple, let Coach coach, and keep moving Falcon football forward.

Go Falcons!

Compared to Bowling Green and NW Ohio?? C'mon...I love BG...but that's just a silly comment.
