And with the NHL locked out, he's got PLENTY of time on his hands, too! (I think you meant Vance Joseph, actually, but I hear ya!orangeandbrown wrote: Finally, my own opinion is that our next head coach is not on the staff right now, unless its Curtis Joseph.

Did he have an offer at Duke, too? I remember him flying down to Louisville once, supposedly coming back to tell the team he was leaving over a "last supper" of sorts, then the next day backing out. Though I also heard speculation that Jesse Jackson was ready to raise a fit about the hiring process, and Louisville went a different direction with Ron (?) Turner.
I agree with the notion that we have to stop getting picked by non-BCS teams. If we don't have the money to keep up, how do we get the money? We can't always offer sweet deals like Utah, but how are other non-BCS schools that much different than us that they can grab our coaches? I think UM was a different situation, he always had his eye on getting to the next level, whatever that may be, but if a guy like Coach Brandon, who seems completely dedicated to the program and the University skips town as well, we may have a pattern to worry about. With the sweet deal UM got, would taking the head job at UNLV be any more lucrative than the assistants job Coach Brandon turned down in Utah?
