Attention Anderson Animals: apparently Mychal Green (Ohio) and John Bowler (Eastern Michigan) do not like our gym. Let's make them feel right at home when their teams come in this year.

God I love Anderson Arena.

No doubt the place is falling apart, but I still love it. Best place to watch basketball that I've ever seen.

Ditto. It is the absolute best, and when it goes, it will never be the same.

I've only been to two other ones in the MAC, Millet in Oxford and Savage in Toledo and Anderson is far superior.

Millet is like a weird theatre where no one is really interested in the play and Savage is generic.

Of course both are bigger and shinier but niether has the aura of Anderson.

Both are better than Anderson to see a music concert, but that's another story. Anderson Rules!! I'd hate to see it go.

Go Falcons!!

Absolutely love AA. When it's packed like last year for UT, wow. I got goosebumps just thinking back to that game! It gets loud, crazy and a lot of fun.

So John Bowler doesn't like it. I'd still take AA over an near empty, brand spanking new Convo Center like EMU's. Talk about no character. AA has a ton of character. Throwback, old school. It is awesome.

When we played Michigan a few years ago that was a blast. People were standing in the aisle ways because there wasn't a seat left. That's how I wish it was like every game.

It was like that not so long ago all of the time with McLeod and Co.

Yep Keith's senior year was my freshman year that was the year I thought we were going to the NCAA tournament. After that season we haven't seen many packed houses.

Good Article

Post by BGSU Crazy Fan 58 »

Anderson Arena has a great rep as one of the hardest gyms to play in. I heard about Anderson Arena before I ever came here and I knew how awesome the crowds are. The Miami and Toledo games last year were games I'll never forget. With a packed house and a good game, that gym turns magical. It gets so loud in there and so fun. I hope AA is here for at least a lil while longer, it's special. I can't wait to get back in there saturday afternoon.

Two words

Post by ZiggyZoomba »

You want to know how tough it can be to play in Anderson??

Two words... Angie Hipsher. :-)

Two more words... Jud Heathcote :-)

That Akron game where Hipsher just lost it is one of my favorite Anderson Arena moments... and there are SO many!!

Those are things that should be handed down through the ages. Angie made the life of those guys in the front so worth living during that game.

Amen brother...I still have that image of Jud trying to pull the hair off the side of his head as he stormed back and forth on the sideline after another homer call from Tom Rucker...at least I think that was that official's name.
