Is PJ Pope the perfect metaphor for this football season? Hobbled by a big injury, he worked hard to get back in time to play in some crucial games. But despite some successes along the way, he came up short a ta few key junctures.
Hopefully, PJ will heal up and show the folks at the Hula Bowl what he can really do. The rest of the team will have to sing the song of the loser, "Wait 'til Next Year"
Pope as a metaphor...
When I first saw the heading i thought you may have been talking about Pope Benedict and was curious to see which way your twisted mind would take this.
Following PJ's career I've always thought his calling card at the next level would be his versatility, his abiilty as a runner and a pass-catcher out of the backfield. I don't have the numbers in front of me but it didn't seem like we used him much in the passing game this year. I'm sure the injury had something to do with that.
