Well, Ohio was rated the #2 party school this past year, maybe this will help them knock off Wisconsin for the #1 spot?!

I am anxious to see what Ohio does about this. I have a feeling because it is Solich - they will slap him on the wrist, then make him carry through with some steps such as alcohol awareness classes, donating money to an alcohol prevention cause, then they'll wait for everything to blow over. Thankfully, no one (including Solich) was hurt and it wasn't a car accident or anything like that....but this is a very poor reflection of your head coach and school when something like this happens.

Ohio has supposedly already come out and said his job is safe, along with the usual "this is not in his character" type speech.

I can see it now.

Michael Irvin is an idiot. He has so much going for him, and he has been given so many chances to redeem himself. What makes me really sad is his kids go to the same school my kids do. How many times does his family have to go through the embarrassment he causes them? I doubt CBS will keep him & I am pretty sure the Hall of Fame won't look too highly on this either. Just makes me mad.

Well, CBS probably won't offer him a contract (especially since he's ESPN on-air "talent"). As for the Hall of Fame - well, they don't seem to really care about off-field actions.

You are right transfer. I knew that, but these sports people move around too much, but feel free to point out what a doofus I am. Thanks!

Speaking of coaches...did you see about the UC assistant?

Post by transfer2BGSU »

UC Assistant Basketball Coach Keith Legree resigned yesterday after being arrested on a drunken-driving charge. Evidently at 2:00 AM on Saturday, Newport, KY police found him asleep at the wheel at a red light with his foot on the brake.

Legree was suspended in March when he was charged with drunken driving by Cincinnati police. He denied the charges and was ultimately acquited in July.

UC AD Bob Goins instituted a zero tolerance policy last May.

The wheels on the truck go round and round, round and round, round and round, the wheels of the truck go round and round....

You can't really be serious can you? I didn't see any emoticons. The man is a cheater- did you notice that SC is on probation? Leave him on TV to dedevil Mark May. NCFB No Cheaters For BG.

What is the benefit of refusing a breathalyzer test as opposed to failing one?

It's your right to refuse a breathalyzer. If you're hammered enough to be slumped over your steering wheel with your car in drive, and you're a public figure, I think you might do it just to save the public humiliation and chants at large sporting events such as "POINT-TWO-SEV-EN... (clap, clap, clapclapclap)".

I don't know what they do if the cops think you're drunk but you don't think so and refuse the test, I think they can take you to the station to do blood tests or something, but it's an easier step to avoid potentially damning evidence of just how sloshed you were.

He and I were both riffing off a thread from the BB board a little while back. Obviously neither of us were serious.

My brother-in-law is the county prosecutor in....Ohio somewhere and he told my niece after she was picked up and failed the field sobriety test that the rule of thumb is 'Don't Walk; Don't Talk; Don't Blow"

If you refuse a breathalyzer test,it's an automatic 6 month suspension of your license. You may apply for authorization to be allowed to drive to/from work.
