Omar had lost his timing and it was quite evident in the UT game. Let's also not forget that we lost another stud...P.J. for most of this season. Had this team been healthy, no doubt in my mind we would be at Ford Field. Coulda...woulda...shoulda...yes this is, but it's the truth.
I think you're right, Believe. Unfortunately, our injuries were to the most important players on the team. With Omar, PJ, Corey and Teddy P all healthy for the entire season? I don't think BG goes worse than 8-3. But injuries happen and ya have to deal with them. Other teams lost key players as well and hit hard times for a couple weeks.

I think the one thing that did this team in, more than anything else, was a lack of leadership on the field. I just never really saw it all year. It seemed like everyone was waiting for someone else to step up....

Oddly enough, I saw more leadership on the defensive side of the ball than the offense. I am not talking about which side of the ball played better, but I am talking about intensity. The defense would mess up, but guys would be yelling at each other, raising their hands in the air for 3rd down fan support, or whatever it took. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.

Now offensively, when Omar went down, not one guy that I saw stood up and took control of the offense. The Western game was a disaster and no one did anything or even seemed to get furious on that side of the ball. Even the most talented receivers were dropping balls. Not to knock on Omar because he is truly very talented, but when AT was leading the team for 3 games, I didn't see him over there really trying to fire up his backup. Some folks talked about certain players not getting the ball, but I wonder if they were demanding the ball. Demanding it of the coaches and demanding if from the QB?

In the end, I really don't know. I could be totally wrong. I was observing from the stands and not close enough to hear.
