Re: Larson Rated #19 in Michigan
19. Marc Larson, 6-9, sr., Mattawan:A three-year starter, Larson signed with Bowling Green. A good shot blocker, Larson is quite adept at playing 15 feet away from the basket and has a nice touch from this range. Last season he averaged 15.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. ""He's an intelligent player who can defend the wing, too," coach Dan Hoff said.fredthefalcon wrote:Detroit News had the top players in Michigan today. Marc Larson (BG recruit) was listed at #19. Sounds like a player we desperatly need at power forward. A guy at 6'9 who can defend wing players which means he's got quickness , something we' hardly ever had at that position. Apparently this kid has good grades too so there should be no Sullivan like mess.

It's cool...thanks for the info. Always great to hear from someone who's actually seen him play, as opposed to a few random newspaper quotes.ESS wrote: This isn't meant to take anything away from him as a player. I'm just trying to help with your expectations.
HAHA! No doubt.Flipper wrote:The usual expectations around these parts range from "He's the next all MAC performer" to "he's gonna sit a year and transfer".
That gives this kid a pretty wide range to work with.
I don't have expectations for him, I know almost nothing of him. I like to actually SEE somebody play before I attach too many expectations to them on an individual level.

My personal favorite (and I've had my share with the Rockets as well) was a friend of mine from BG declaring "Jason Crump will be the dominant offensive force in the MAC". And for those of you who don't remember Jason Crump, well, that's the point. I thought Jeff Coil of UT was going to be ALL MAC back in the 80s. I do think he got into a game before his career was over at least.
