The only uniform I ever wear is my band one and I will be going as a fan to CMU. Sorry to ruin your fantasy of 2 fat guys tackling each other in uniform. If you want to see that, watch some professional wrestling or something

500 Falcon Fans?

Post by ab1994 »

I just got back from the game, I would be suprised if there were 500 people TOTAL at the game. And 200 of those were the cheerleaders they had for the half time show!

Still, there was definitely a strong Falcon following. As usual, on my way out of the stadium I got stopped by a Temple fan who asked me where Bowling Green was.

I knew you were in band (I was, also, way back in 1978)...that's why I knew you'd be in uniform.

I really hope you have more fun at CMU than I did at NIU!

Must have been tough fighting the crowds to get out of there!

Apparently there was 12,000-plus... http://bgsufalcons.collegesports.com/sp ... 04aaa.html

now either A) you're another one of those Toledo grads moonlighting as a BG fan, or B) Temple has taken on University of Toledo attendance-counting procedures. :D

Oh yeah, brutal.

Seriously, I didnt' expect a big crowd, but I was still suprised at how small it actually was. I had heard templed averaged about 10,000 a game? I can't help but think that it hurts Temple's attendance to have to play their home games so far from campus.

This was my first visit to the Linc and I have to say it is VERY nice. One of the most unusual things was that the men's rooms have no urinals, just stalls! At first, I thought I walked into the ladies room by mistake! I guess the men in Philly like their privacy!

Temple averaged 18,500 for their first two games.

If they actually listed attendance as 12,000, they were counting fingers, not people

12,000 my a**!

They must have had 11,500 of them hidden in the luxury boxes then.

Talking about other games

Post by Todd Walker »

Guys,

Appreciate you listening to the broadcast.

I only brought up the Michigan situation because they were stuck in the same spot reviewing a call for about 10 minutes. Pretty impossible not to notice. Thought it would make for a chance to talk a little bit about replay in college FB, considering the BG lead was getting a bit large there certainly wasn't any drama left in our game. BTW there were three(!) monitors in our booth at the Linc., all with college games on them.

Also, in reference to the Cole and P.J. TD's and the yardage of said plays, it was mentioned that the length of the plays were wrong on the radio when in fact they were not. I know because I am in the studio now cutting up the highligts.

It's not a big deal to me to be called out, it comes with the territory, but when you bring such criticism, at least have the facts right.

I don't mind if you have criticism of my call but just for the record I do not hang out by the monitors in the BG press box hanging on every play of the OSU game.

Warthog, whoever your source is...he is full of crap.

In fact, it's hard to get through the press box on such occasions because of everybody else wathcing the OSU game (or a ND game, or a Michigan game, or whatever big game is on that day). I don't demand constant updates on their games while we're doing our game. Again that is totally unfounded. We do score updates on all games going on during our broadcast and those scores are provided by the staff in the press box.

Hope to have you all listening next week at CMU.

Nice job in the commentary Todd. You and JG are great. I don't have a problem with anything you did, I thought it was all good! I think fewer people will have the sets tuned in to the Bucks now, considering the lost (that made my day!)

If anyone would want an OSU score it would be ME...I do the scoreboard updates on the games.

Today we had 3 games at once all day, we even had the Syracuse/Rutgers game on a monitor, hell we coulda talked about that. Instant Replay is a hot topic amongst people involved in college football right now.

I can tell you when BG played SEMO, there were people all over the TV's at teh Doyt watchin Michigan/ND and OSU/Marshall. We like to have the score to keep our listeners up to date..we know that there are fans of other teams besides BG listening to the broadcast.

First, all I said was that ESPN game tracker had it one yard longer, it wasn't a knock on you because I wasn't even listening to the broadcast. McMetz replied that he got the yardage from the broadcast...nothing else was said after that.

It wasn't Warthog that brought up about you watching the osu game...it was me. When we have games it would be nice that our own crew isn't glued to the tv cheering for osu. No, you aren't glued during the actual BG game it's before the game and during breaks. Last season during our game I'll say timeouts or other breaks you come out and the first thing you ask is how is osu doing. It's not, "do you have the score update page?" It get's tiring to many BG fans and I know last year our own SID got tired of it too and had to turn a tv off.
