Athletic Advancement/Athletic Development Newsletter

Post by Class of 61 »

Have any of you received a copy of this Newsletter (Which I'd never seen before)? This publication features the artist rendering of the SAC looking from the N to the S, a different view than I'd seen last Spring on the charts I'd been shown.
Most interesting is that the "Naming Rights" were listed on Pg. 3, and that the SAC's Name has been picked up already to the tune of 3.5MILL.!
Since you guys have been talking about "buying a bus" etc., how about we go all the way with AZZ "naming" the coaches' offices for $100,000? What the heck...it's only money, right? And the outdoor pavilion overlooking the field is "only" 250,000. A great place for AZZ to Permantently Tailgate!!!
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

Wow...that 3.5 million is half the cost of the project.

Maybe we could get MTV, VH1 or the WB to underwrite our bus and do a show about it. It couldn't be much worse than "Surreal Life"

I want to be the wacky Krameresque neighor

If we can get Flavor Flav and Ron Jeremy to attend all the home games, I'll donate.

It's a long trip from "Fight the Power" to playing slap and tickle on TV with Bridgette Nielson, but I'm sure Flava Flav has had fun along the way...

The name of the student athlete center has a name if the board of trustees accepts the donation. I sat on the committee that addresses nameing here at the U. The name will be announced during homecoming. It will be fun to see what the actual design will be. The drawing on the board outside of the stadium and the one in the newsletter are totally different.

Can anyone scan the different images from the North and South of the SAC from this newsletter and post it on here for all to see? I'd love to take a look.

I get the idea of what they want to do for the North to South side but I really would like to see a view of it from inside the Doyt. Really, I just want to know where the band is going to have to sit if the take out those bleachers!!

On their butts as usual!

'61,
Received that newsletter and I was very pleased! If they start sending these on a regular basis, that will only help our cause.

I would like to see the side of the SAC facing south and below the patio to have permanent seating for the marching band. i love having them in that location. They can be heard all over the stadium. Permanent seating will also allow for the proper netting to be put in place.
