Mind Boggling Statistics

Post by commonsense »

This is a post to lighten the forum mood, since there has been so much bickering in here in the past few days. I have come across some statistics that are absolutely amazing. Some of them have been touched upon, some not. Well here they are:

1) We have a center (Lefeld) who has not had multiple shot blocks in a SEASON, let alone a game, since his freshman year.

2) We have a point guard (Robinson) who played in every game last season and shot under 38% from the Foul Line. I've never seen that before.

3) We have a 7 footer (Lefeld) who has been on the team for 3 years and has yet to have a dunk.

4) Our shooting specialist (Dusan) is shooting 0% from the floor this year.

5) On the bright side, we have a SG/SF (Soler) who is shooting 75% from the field for his career here, and he has played a majority of the minutes.

dunks are not in the box score

Dunks are not in the box score. However, they are in the game logs which are available to read after every game.

I'd feel comfortable believing that, because I'm not convinced LeFeld CAN dunk.

Soler has a good shooting %, I'd like to see him shoot a little more, but I'm sure that's nothing more than a small sample size warning. He hardly ever shoots, and when he does it's putbacks off rebounds, etc.

If Lefeld has feet that limit his practice and pplaying time, I'm not sure he should be trying to dunk...it's not like they give you any extra style points

Walking in to the Oakland game, I happened upon someone who is, well, an exceptionally reliable source on how Matt's doing. The bottoms of feet are bruised and there has been significant ligament damage. Matt's in a lot of pain, and I was amazed by how well he moved against Oakland based on what I was told. Matt deserves credit for what he's going through. (However, I'd be a little surprised if a healthy Lefeld could not dunk.) If this were last years team, he'd be a redshirt candidate, imho.

I'll definitely give the kid props for playing through this pain. He knows that this team absolutely needs him if they're to have any chance. I was actually saying that I didn't think he could dunk when healthy, but it was all in jest. Matt isn't the most gifted athlete in the world, but there is no doubt that his heart is all world. The guy has worked his butt off to just to get to the point he's at now.
