Wright to play, Samarco to not play

Post by orangeandbrown »

Steven Wright to play today. Coach says no ill effect.

However, Samarco won't be playing. He was apparently late for something, so he's going to be the "league's highest scoring cheerleader" according to DD on the pre-game show.

In the pre-game, Coach said no ill effects. In the post-game, Coach said the Doctors had only cleared Wright to play 20-25 minutes.

But if he can play 20-25 minutes with no ill effects...

Well, isn't being limited being to 20-25 minutes an ill effect in itself??

Right now, our basketball team is an "ill-effect." Doctors fear watching BG play may cause you to hack the person walking next to you while in public.

Yes and no. Limited time is certainly a downside to coming off the injury, and could probably be construed as "ill effects", but by using the term "ill effects" in the pregame, DD could have just been saying Wright can go full bore and not worry about reinjuring it.

I understand. I was just play around with the words a little. I guess I got the impression he was at full strength, which he clearly is not, and which is not surprising.

Exactly. Though at this point, I'd take 20-25 min/game above the zero we were getting out of him, no problem. Now if we can buy Samarco a damn alarm clock!!!
