It looks like the Building Dreams Campaign is progressing well. Check it out here. Click on Campaign Progress at the left.

Overall, more than 72% ($86 million) of the $120 million goal has been pledged. And remember, the Campaign continues through Dec. of 2008. It looks to me like the Campaign will significantly exceed its goals. In fact, in some areas it already has.
Let's look at some areas.
Sebo Center--$5.2 million pledged with a goal of $7 million (74 %). By the way, I've seen a figure of $8.7 million for the total cost. What's the difference between the pledge goal and the total cost?
Athletics Overall--$10 million pledged with a goal of $18 million (55 %).
Scholarships--$28 million pledged with a goal of $35 million (80 %) This is very impressive.
Keep in mind that by the end of Dec., we can also look forward to the release of the Convocation Center study. I'm expecting good news. I'm betting that some major donations have already been pledged.
Within a few years, the BG campus is going to look a lot different.
President Ribeau can be proud, and he should be able to cash in some of the chips he's earned with the state government.

This seems pretty respectable donor numbers for what some would consider a "small" school. Hopefully tOSU doesn't try to stop the Normals.

Seriously, I believe it is change in costs of materials or changes in design since the original plan.

Okay, if I remember correctly, the 8.7 million total cost figure is the new figure after the construction costs adjustment. The 7 million figure is the private contributions goal, which was what I think the original estimate was. The remaining 1.7 million, I thought this amount was now supposed to be picked up by the University in the form of state grants, internal funding and/or the athletic department footing the remaining portion of the bill. Is that correct, anyone, anyone, anyone?Redwingtom wrote:Salsa wrote:Sebo Center--$5.2 million pledged with a goal of $7 million (74 %).
