The Falcons take on the Wildcats on January 2nd

Post by UK Peregrine »

Well with the holidays approaching, I thought I would give an early heads up by extending an invitation to everyone to come out for the BGSU-UK women's basketball game on January 2nd at Memorial Coliseum in Lexington. BG is currently 7-0 on the young season, which is the best start in program history. UK is 8-0 and tied for the best mark in their school history. Both may not be undefeated by the time they meet, with UK facing #3 LSU this week, but nonetheless it should be a stellar game. Both schools are getting votes in the basketball polls.

The Kentucky alumni chapter will be hosting a pre-game gathering at Pazzo's Pizza Pub that is open to all BG supporters - alumni, students, and fans. Pazzo's is about a block and a half from the game, so you should be able to park at the coliseum and walk over to Pazzo's or vice versa. I should be at Pazzo's no later than 5pm. Pazzo's Pizza Pub is located at 385 S. Limestone in Lexington. I'm hoping we can get a good showing of Kentucky alumni and others to show up and support the Falcons. This game is undoubtedly going to be one to remember, so I hope some of you can make it out. The game will start at 7pm and tickets cost $5 for adults and $2 for children/seniors.

GO FALCONS!

BUMP BUMP

With BG leading oakland, and and UK beating Tenn St 79-35 I thought I would remind folks of this. Try to come down if you can. Could be a chance to meet some former players and what not.

With BG's win over Iona today, 9-1 BG will take on 9-2 UK on January 2nd (UK still plays Wake Forest on Dec. 31st). The game should be an awesome game. I hope a few AZZers and Animals can make the trip to Lexington. The pre-game party will begin around 4:30 Pazzo's Pizza.

Hey everyone. UK fan here. Pazzo's is a great place to meet - good beer and pizza, but they're service is notoriously slow. I plan on getting there no later than 5 in order to get some food and a couple of drinks. Just a heads up.

Also, attendance for UK games has been spotty - anywhere from 1,000 to sell out crowds. Memorial only holds 5,500 now due to construction. You can check out ticket info on UK Athletics.

Lastly, also due to the construction on Memorial, parking has been more difficult this year. With the holidays, a lot of students are gone, so it shouldn't be that difficult for this game. For more info on non-patrolled lots during the holidays, check out UK Parking.
