Ok- I vote for your list as mine also. If Omar picks up this team and puts it on his back and pushes and shoves it to some victories this year- he will have a great chance to move up.1987alum wrote:McClure

Thanks for posting that picture. I believe that is in the first 10 yards of Andy's infamous 65-yard run at Kansas that was stopped at the 1. It took him 5 minutes to run that far.UK Peregrine wrote:Alright, a chance to put a Sahm picture on the boards.BGGrad01 wrote:Best quarterback (only been around BG since 1998):

I have to go with Brian McClure for two reasons.... all the yards and victories and records..... and mostly, he came to BG even when all the big schools wanted him and in an era when it was unheard of. He wanted to play and play now; not sit on the bench for three years until it was his turn. I would even go as far as saying that he lead the way for lots of other top recruits to start looking at the MAC. But what do I know?

McClure hands down.
Freak can back me up on this, but a linemen that played with him said he achieved all his stats without putting forth much effort to improve himself to become a better QB. The former player faulted the coaching staff for most of this BTW.
If Omar can put another 2004 season then he may move ahead.
1. McClure
2. Miller
3. Harris
4. White
5. Jacobs

That's what I heard, Tom.Redwingtom wrote:McClure hands down.

McClure was the QB when I first started to really follow BG football. I didn't see Miller play but know he was pretty darn good. Dackin wasn't as bad as some think in the 80's....Ankney just couldn't coach.
For me, I simply loved watching J5 play at BG...it would be either McClure or Harris. Erik White was a great QB as well. And we all know Omar *could* be the greatest ever, stats wise. if he comes back.
My top 4:
Harris/McClure
White
Jacobs

Rick Neiman.
When the 1985 team was honored at the OU game this year, I got a chance to talk with Rick at Brathaus that night. Told him I was at that game and it was one of the most exciting endings I'd ever seen....probably second to the BG/NW game in 2001. He was happy that people still remembered him at all.
That game will never die....
