Those who are familiar in the food blogging community would know the significance of this pie. I don’t know Jennifer Perillo (In Jennie’s Kitchen) but I read her story from Baked Bree. Jennifer’s post was short, honest and raw but it touched the lives of millions who read it.
In the midst of her grief, she urged everyone out there to make this pie for the ones you love and hug them like there’s no tomorrow…..because you never know when you will have that chance again. It’s cliché to be told this over and over but take time to pause and reflect.
I have never felt so emotional making a pie before. I’m not even a sappy person to begin with. I made this pie not only to echo what Jennifer is urging but also to lend my support in prayers and thoughts for her family going through such difficult time. It is ironic that in death, we talk about the celebration of life. That limited time on earth makes us appreciate the beauty of what is temporary.
