Mango is my favourite fruit. Put mango next to any other fruit and I would still choose the mango. When I was young, we used to have this huge mango tree in the backyard. This breed of mango is the pungent type when it’s in season. My siblings and I used to spend many happy days picking the mangoes right from the tree. We also have our fair share of accidents from that tree.
Sometimes when mangoes get too ripe, they’re not too pleasant to be eaten just like that, so I make them into drinks, sorbet or some sort of puree for ice creams. Lassi is very refreshing and good for your digestive systems. Use honey to sweeten it to your liking although I find that by adding ice cream, it’s good enough.
MANGO LASSI RECIPE
Ingredients;
1 large ripe mango, peeled, chopped and cubed
1 cup yogurt
2 scoops vanilla ice cream, semi-soft
Milk to thin it out
Steps;
1. Place everything in a blender and blend till you have a thick, shake consistency.
2. Taste and adjust. Enjoy it cold!
