10-man Arsenal End Losing Streak, Leeds Hit Newcastle 5-2

Arsenal finally got a point in three English Premiership home games when they rallied with 10 men to hold Southampton to a 1-1 draw.

Theo Walcott had opened the scoring on his return to his former club with a delightful dink over onrushing goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finished smartly after the break to level as Arsenal ended a run of 797 minutes in the Premier League without a goal from open play.

But the Gunners’ ill-discipline cost them once again as Gabriel was sent off after being booked twice in four minutes.

The draw lifts Southampton above Leicester City into third.

Mikel Arteta’s side remains 15th in what is Arsenal’s worst start to a top-flight campaign since the 1974-75 season.

At Elland Road, Leeds United beat Newcastle United 5-2 with Bamford, Rodrigo, Dallas, Alioski, and Harrison scoring for the home side, while Hendricks and Clark got the Magpies two goals.

Everton continued their impressive opening to the season with a 2-0 away victory over Leicester City.

Richarlison and Mason Holgate got the goals in either half of the game.
