2019: Don’t Be Deceived By Obasanjo’s, Afenifere’s Endorsement, Youths Tell Atiku
The Yoruba Youth Socio-cultural Association (YYSA) on Thursday warned former Vice President Abubakar Atiku not to be deceived by the endorsement and support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Afenifere.
The association in a statement signed by its National President, Olalekan Hammed and National Secretary, Olawale Ajao warned Atiku not to be deceived by their frivolous support and endorsement.
“The former Vice President and the People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar should not be deceived with the frivolous support and endorsement given to him by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Afenifere.
“The youth are the ‘factor’ who will determine the next president of Nigeria through their votes,” part of the statement read.
According to the youths, only the youths have the energy, strategy and the political will to convince the electorate.
“In Nigeria, youth constitute more than 60 per cent of the entire population and more than 70 per cent of total number of Nigerians who have so far collected their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVCs).
“Besides that, there is limit to what the duo can do in terms of mobilization and canvass for votes,” they said.
