8 French Football Fans Injured After Rioting
Eight people were injured in riots between fans of French second-division teams AC Ajaccio and Girondins Bordeaux on Monday.
Clashes broke out between both sets of fans just a few minutes in to the 0-0 draw, despite Bordeaux supporters supposedly being banned from the match.
The game was interrupted and the teams had to stay in the dressing rooms for almost an hour as police threw the Bordeaux fans out of the stadium.
Bordeaux condemned the violence and said they would take necessary measures to sanction those involved.
French football has been beset by crowd violence since fans returned after the worst of the coronavirus pandemic
