Ogun Speaker Charges NIM Members On Transparency
The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly,. Rt. Hon. Suraju Ishola Adekunbi has charged the Executive members of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) (NIM) SouthWest Zone to create room for admission of more members and help inculcate necessary transparent and managerial skills in them to support the anti-corruption policy of the Federal Government to promote good governance for the overall benefit of the citizenry.
The Speaker, represented by his deputy, Hon Olakunle Oluomo gave the charge while declaring open the Zonal meeting of the NIM held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Adekunbi sought the need to critically curb corruption in the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy to restore the nation to the part of honor.
According to him, there was need for professional institutes like the NIM to give more room for increased membership to support government to steer the nation to its pride of place in the comity of Nations.
Responding, the Zonal Chairman of NIM, Mr. Sanya Olopade lauded the mutual interdependence between the legislative and executive arms of government in Ogun State which he noted had led to the advancement of socio-economic development of the State.
The Zonal Chairman said the peaceful co-existence which had led to more progress in the State also created the platform for the hosting of the Institute’s Zonal meeting in the State, while commending the State House of Assembly for its hospitality to the members of the institute.
