Police Parade 8 Suspected Killers of Ondo APC Chieftain
The Ondo State police command Wednesday paraded eight suspected kidnappers who were responsible for the alleged murder of a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) , Mr. Olumide Odimayo.
The suspects paraded were identified as: Davide Seimiyengha, Fikesei Inuesokan, Bekewei Frnacis, Ekan Roman, Gbamila Success, Bodidi Idowo, Saturday Amos and Ijanboh Kehinde.
Odimayo, a United Kingdom based businessman and politician was kidnapped on June 15 by unknown gunmen shortly after he returned from a trip at his house in Igbotu in Ese-Odo Local Government area of the state.
His lifeless body was later found near Ogolo River, between Sabomi and Igbotu communities in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state four days after he was abducted.
Parading the suspects, at the Command headquarters at Igbatoro road Akure, the Commissioner of Police, Hilda Ibifuro Harrison, said the hoodlums and some people at large stormed the residence of Odimayo and took him into unknown destination.
The Police boss said, it was in the process of the victim being rescued by the community that the hoodlums killed their victims and dropped his corpse into a river in the community.
According to her, one AK49 with 21 rounds of live ammunitions were recovered from the suspects.
Harrison said, the body of the deceased was found lifeless in a creek of Ajagba.
The Police boss who further informed that the corpse was deposited at hospital for autopsy, noted that efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects.
But one of the suspects, Amos however denied being part of the kidnappers.
Amos said, he and Ijaboh came to the town after their boat got damaged in the creek.
