Osun Govt Grants Amnesty To 6 Prisoners On Death Sentence
Six prisoners on death sentence were granted amnesty at the twilight of the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Osun state.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo Thursday by the Secretary to the state government and Head of Service, Dr Adegboyega Oyebade. aka. Olowo.
According to the statement, the prisoners were serving varying jail terms at Federal Prison, Ibara, Abeokuta Ogun State.
The beneficiaries of the amnesty according to the statement included, Kazeem Adiamo sentenced to death in year 2012, now freed, Adesina Bolaji
sentenced to death in year 2006, his death Sentenced was commuted to life sentenced in year 2008 but now freed.
Others are Kayode Dada who was sentenced to death in year 2006 his death sentenced was commuted to life sentenced in 2006 but now freed, while Adewale Owolabi sentenced to death but now freed.
However, Lateefat Jimoh who was sentenced to death had her sentence now commuted to ten years imprisonment while Fatai Jimoh who was also sentenced to death had his jail term now commuted to ten years imprisonment.
