Ajimobi Rescued Oyo From ‘Amala and Gbegiri’ Politics – Tinubu
Former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju has said Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi rescued the state from ‘Amala and Gbegiri’ politics to a modern day politics. Tinubu while speaking at a Roundtable talk to commemorate the 69 birthday ceremony of the Ajimobi said the governor was the foundation builder, saying, “We have to support him, to give him an helping hand all day so the good legacy can continue.
He described Ajimobi as a leader blessed with a vision to transform and sustain a lasting legacy.
The former governor said Ajimobi, “is a dynamic, visionary and responsive leader that he will always like to work or assist any time.
“We need many like you, we will support you and your legacy. You are just an Engineer of a modern Oyo state and for this legacy to continue we must always support your cause.
“I can tell you that Ajimobi has transformed Oyo state from Amala and Gbegiri politics to a modern day politics and he is just the foundation builder we have to support him, to give him an helping hand all day so the good legacy can continue
“You have built Oyo State with enormous resources for the masses, you have built new Oyo with infrastructure development, and for this I don’t feel bad associating myself with you.
“If we should re-conduct the party primary in Oyo, then I will still go the side of Ajimobi choice on Adebayo Adelabu because Ajimobi has proved to me that he is totally in control of things he did this during his second term electioneering and I was convinced that he won the election and he remain the first to be duly elected into office as an executive governor of Oyo state.
“If the foundation of building is bad the whole building will not last before it will collapse, but I thank God for Ajimobi who has built a solid foundation for the development of the state and I can tell you that the people of Oyo State are progressive people they are APC people and they want the good work of Ajimobi to continue then Oyo state will no doubt vote for APC come 2019.” Tinubu said.
Also speaking, former governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola described Ajimobi has a wealthy man in terms of wisdom.
He also used the occasion to educate the masses on the need to make their families a responsible one, saying that, “the problem we are having today in our society is that we have lost the core value of family system.
“Each one of us here are products of families and if we were all well groomed there would not be much problems in our society, our society is decaying, we have corruption everywhere, virtually all sectors, the real corruption is you collecting money from where you don’t work, it is so bad.
“For Nigeria to move forward we all have to be in the right place, doing the rightful thing and we must be doing what is just, the PDP people were so corrupt that they even promotes religious dichotomy and that is what they believe it can sustained them in power,” he said.
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi described Ajimobi as a great man that has repositioned, rebuild, transform Oyo State into new and modern Oyo state.
Alaafin said, ” You are a great man, a brilliant man that know how to source for best brains, a very loyal person, I always use my brain to support him because if his brilliancy and if you all want this man to continue with the good work then you all must vote for APC come 2019 general elections.”
In his goodwill message, Governor Ajimobi said ” today is my happiest day, I want to appreciate all of you here today, my message is that I wanted these traditional rulers to always contribute meaningful to the economic development of our society and not just been collecting our money for chieftaincy title sake.”
“People were saying that Tinubu chooses Adebayo Adelabu for us in Oyo State, but I can tell you that since I knew Tinubu he has never for once interfered in Oyo politics. He always says go and do whatever you wanted to do I am in your support.
“The only person that can sustain my program is Adebayo Adelabu. He is brilliant, he worked and rose to the post of deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and I can tell you that APC is the only party that is on ground in Oyo state, and we will win 2019 general elections.” Ajimobi stressed.
