2 Killed In Osun Bank Robbery
At least two persons were killed on Thursday during an attack on a new generation bank by suspected armed robbers in Ila-Orangun, Ila Local Government Area of Osun state.
The remains of the yet to be identified victims of the robbery according to information have been deposited in an undisclosed hospital while those who sustained injuries are being taken care of in various hospital in the ancient town.
It was gathered that the robbers numbering about 15 launched attack on the bank and carted away unspecified amount of money during the raid which was said to have lasted for about two and half hour.
An eyewitness disclosed that the robbers announced their arrival with gun shots which sent residents scampering for safety.
The bandits reportedly blew the bank’s security door with dynamite to gain access into the banking hall.
The heavy shooting by the robbers paralysed transportation, economic and social activities in the town.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folashade Odoro who confirmed the incident however said police swung into action immediately to bring the perpetrators to book.
