APC Wins Another State Assembly Seat In Osun
The candidate of All Progressives Congress, (APC) for Oriade state constituency Architect Babatunde Ojo has been declared winner of the supplementary election held on Saturday in Osun State.
Babatunde Ojo polled the total of 702 votes to defeat his closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Barrister Pelumi Olajegbensi, who scored nine votes in the supplementary election.
The final result later released by INEC put the total votes accruing to APC at 12,088, while PDP polled 9,913 votes.
It would be recalled that the election in the state constituency was earlier declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on March 9.
INEC had adduced the reason for declaring the exercise inconclusive as a situation where the margin between the winner and the runner up was less than the number of registered voters in the areas where there was cancellation of votes.
APC had earlier won 22 out of the 26 Assembly seats in the state, leaving three to PDP.
