Police Nab 2 Suspects Over Abduction Of Lagos Fire Service Boss
Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday said two suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction of the Director Lagos State Fire Service Mr. Rasaki Musibau and six others.
The police in a statement issued by Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent of Police said their arrests followed a sustained and well -coordinated operations by the Command’s Tactical teams led by the Officer in Charge of Anti -Kidnapping Unit, Bulus R Musa, a Superintendent of Police (SP).
He said,’’ two members of the kidnapping gang that abducted the Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musibau and six others on 6/4/2019 at about 8.pm were arrested. The suspects namely, Blessing Bayo ‘m’ 29yrs and Smart Alfred ‘m’ 32yrs all of Arogbo, Ondo State were arrested on 10/4/19 at about 0530 hrs, at Ibafun along Ikorodu- Ijebu Ode Express Way, a boundary community with Ogun State and they all confessed to the commission of the crime.
‘’Two single barrel guns were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing, efforts are in place to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
“The Command’s Tactical teams are still in the creeks and forests combating the hoodlums. A water-tight security measures are emplaced across the State to forestall future occurrence.
“The Command deeply appreciate the supports of Lagos State Government and the good people of Lagos State who stood by us and also provided useful information that facilitated the prompt rescue of the victims. Together we will continue to make Lagos State one of the safest states in Nigeria.”
