Man Bags Three Years Imprisonment Over Cable Theft In Osun
An Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife Tuesday sentenced 20-year-old Usman Abdullahi, to three years imprisonment for stealing cable wire.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec 26, 2019, around 6:00 am at Surulere Quarters, Opa, Ile-Ife.
Osanyintuyi said that the defendant broke and entered into the dwelling house of one Adereti Afeez with intent to commit felony.
He added that the defendant stole cables wire of Adereti Afeez, valued yet unknown.
According to him, the defendant also stole cable wires worth N300,000 that belonged to one Oke Joshua.
The Prosecutor stated further that the offence contravened sections 383, 390, 411 and 412 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
Since the defendant pleaded guilty to the four charges preferred against him, Magistrate Owolawi convicted and sentenced him to serve as a deterrent to others.
