Woman Docked Over N1.2 m Fraud In Osun
An Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife on Monday, docked 40-year-old woman, Basirat Jacob, for alleged over N1.2m fraud.
She, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of fraud and stealing levelled against her.
He submitted that the defendant with one other at large fraudulently collected the sum of N1,260,000.00 from one Famoriyo Olalere with the pretence to sell a building to him which she failed to do.
According to him, the defendant stole the sum of N1, 260,000.00, property of one Famoriyo Olalere by converting the same to her own use.
He noted that the offence contravened sections 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun,  2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Philip Fasanmoye, applied for the bail of the defendant in most liberal term with the assurance that his client would stand her case.
Magistrate Joseph Owolawi granted the bail of Basirat Jacob in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum among other bail conditions as he adjourned the case until April 4, for hearing.
