While sympathising with the parents, friends, colleagues and the entire students of the University, on the sad loss, management appealed to students to remain calm and kindly refrain from any act that can jeopardise the peace on campus and truncate the on – going Rain Semester examinations.
However, a statement released by Ogunperi Taofeek Olalekan, public relations officer-elect, of Great Ife Students’ Union alleged negligence at the Health Centre of the University adding that the incident was not the first.
The statement called for diligent investigation of the matter and the desired punishment for whosoever is found culpable of negligence.
The students during their protest barricaded the entrance to the University and the Ife/Ibadan expressway thereby caused gridlock during the duration of the protest.
