Church Cleaner Hacked To Death In Ondo
Tragedy struck as a middle-aged woman, identified as Mrs Omode has been reportedly killed by some unknown assailants at Iwaro Oka in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The deceased, who was said to be a cleaner at the Deeper Life Bible Church in the community, was found dead, throwing the community into mourning.
She was said to have been murdered on Sunday morning while going to the church to perform her duty.
According to an eyewitness, the lifeless body of the deceased was found on the ground with a mark and blood on her neck, which indicated that her throat was slit by the killers.
When contacted the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami said an investigation had commenced into the incident.
“The lifeless body of the woman was found on the way to the church and there was a cut on the neck. We have commenced our investigation into the matter,” Odunlami stated.
“The movie has received a very positive and heartwarming response from two categories of viewers. For some viewers, the positive ending of the story confirms the desire for good to always overcome evil especially in the light of modern-day Christian persecution.
“For other viewers, the movie gives hope about the Catholic mission to young and poor people who often have little or no hope in politicians. Many got validation of the idea that religion has a lot of capacity to bring about social change.”
