48 Bag First Class As Redeemers University 14th Convocation
Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State is set to graduate 635 first degree students in its 14th convocation ceremony slated for Thursday, 13th, October, 2022.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Anthony Akinlo who disclosed this at a press conference organised to flag off events for the Convocation ceremonies at Ede, stated that 48 of the graduating students came out in First Class, 223, in 2nd Class Upper division, 215 in 2nd Class Lower division while the remaining 66 students bag 3rd Class division.
At the event where some graduating students will also bag honours at Diploma, Masters and Ph.D levels, Elder Morounfolu Olusola Olakunrin SAN would be conferred honorary doctorate degree of Letters (D.Litt) (Honours Causa) in recognition of his astute leadership qualities and contributions to educational development.
Prof Akinlo who named Miss Lizzy Esther Oluwayemisi with CGP 0.5 as the best student of the ‘Diamond Set’ disclosed that beside being offered automatic employment, she will also enjoy the instruction’s scholarship up to Ph.D level.
Ranked second among 218 private universities in Nigeria, by National Universities Commission, NUC in 2022, Akinlo disclosed that Redeemer’s University in a bid to further train competent hands in various field recently played host to Resource Verification Team from NUC to assess the preparedness of the university for the commencement of new programmes.
The programme according to him include B.Sc, Public Health, Industrial Mathematics, Statistics and Data Science, BMLS, Medical Laboratory Science, B.Eng. Chemical Engineering, Ph.D, Sociology and PGD, M.Sc, Ph.D, Gender and Development Studies, Humanitarian and Development Studies and Business Administration.
The VC noted that the world acclaimed African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID) which rescued Nigeria from the spread of the dreaded Ebola, COVID-19, Monkey Pox has further been equipped with a new Labcyte Echo 525 bioanalyzer that can run 384 samples at once within shorter time.
