Cleric Tasks Public Servants On Good Governance
Vicar, St John’s Anglican Church, Ikinyinwa-Ijesa, Osun State, Rev. Canon Benson Olu Lana has charged politicians in the corridor of power to ensure good governance for the well-being of the citizenry and upliftment of the nation as a whole.
The vicar who gave the words of admonition on Sunday at the thanksgiving service on the appointment of Hon Mayowa Adejoorin as Osun State commissioner for Environment and Sanitation urged leaders to strive to deliver dividend of democracy to the people.
Canon Lana charged them to consider the interest of the masses in the formulation of policies adding that the wellness of the people is in their hands and they will account for their stewardship before God.
Hon. Adejoorin who spoke with journalists shortly after the church service, dedicated his appointment to God and expressed his loyalty and appreciation to Governor Ademola Adeleke for counting him worthy of the assignment.
He expressed his commitment to serve the people of Osun diligently with the execution of the five-point agenda of the Ademola Adeleke administration for the betterment of the people of Osun State.
Also speaking, an Ikinyinwa community leader, Pastor Nathaniel Adekunle Adeyemi who could not hide his delight on Adejoorin’s appointment thank Governor Adeleke on behalf of Ikinyinwa community for counting one of their own worthy of the honour.
He assured the Governor that with the anticedent of Adejoorin in public service, he would not regret the appointment of the commissioner in his cabinet.
