Moral Values Deteriorating Largely Due To Poor Parental Guidance – Lagos CJ
The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Kazeem Alogba, has blamed parents for moral decadence in the society.
The event held at the Eko Central Mosque on Lagos Island.
The chief judge said that moral values were fast deteriorating largely due to poor parental guidance.
Alogba said that parents should do more to nurture their children to be of good character and moral conduct.
In his address, an Islamic cleric, Imam Abdulgafar Mofesaye, advised judges and lawyers to avoid corruption at all costs.
The cleric said that judges and lawyers had a moral obligation to uphold justice and fairness at all times.
He said that corruption not only undermined the integrity of the legal profession but also eroded the foundations of a society.
Earlier, a community leader, Mr Bashorun Alabi-Macfoy, urged the judiciary to intensify efforts in the fight against sexual violence and drug abuse.
He said that the issues had far-reaching negative social consequences and should be tackled well.
