‘No Rift Between Okpebholo And I’– Deputy Gov
Edo State Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa has dismissed rumour of a conflict between him and Governor Monday Okpebholo, describing such claims as baseless and the work of mischief makers.
Idahosa made this assertion on Tuesday while hosting members and executives of the Edo Parliament of Nigeria at the Government House in Benin City. His remarks were contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo.
The deputy governor clarified that his relationship with Governor Okpebholo is both cordial and professional, likening it to that of an elder and younger brother.
“First, let me dispel a rumour making the round that there is a rift between me and my principal, Governor Monday Okpehbolo. This is far from the truth,” Idahosa stated.
“Mischief makers are behind the rumour, as the relationship between me and my principal remained most cordial, like an elder-younger brother relationship. I also appreciate my principal, having found me worthy to be his deputy.”
Idahosa commended the Okpebholo-led administration’s dedication to good governance and improving the lives of Edo residents, assuring citizens of the government’s commitment to delivering developmental and people-focused policies.
He also expressed gratitude to the visiting parliament members for their support and encouraged them to continue contributing their expertise to the administration’s success.
In his address, Ikponmwonsa Omorodion, President of the Edo Parliament of Nigeria—represented by the Secretary-General, Aimufua Festus—praised the developmental achievements of the Okpebholo-led administration and congratulated the deputy governor on the victory in the recently concluded state elections.
The deputy governor urged residents to focus on the ongoing positive developments in the state rather than being misled by false information, reiterating the administration’s dedication to the well-being of the people of Edo State.
