Osun Govt, APC Exchange Words Over Billboard
Osun State government has described the condemnation and dissociation of Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) from a billboard bearing the picture of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ademola Adeleke as mere ranting of a drowning political part in the state.
Reacting to a statement credited to the APC on the billboard, the spokesperson to the state governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed said the attacks by the party against Governor Ademola Adeleke are confirmation of opposition’s identified crisis, its weakness within the Presidency and frustrations about increasing breakthroughs of the Adeleke administration.
Recalled that the APC through its Director of Media and information, Kola Olabisi expressed anger over the campaign billboard noting that the billboard bearing the inscription ‘Continuity of Progress’ was absurd.
APC described the billboard as dirty politics takes too far as there could not be any acceptable reason for the sponsorship of the billboard other than a flagrant display on irreverent attitude orchestrated by politicians comparing sky with the ground.
He added that the masterminds of the billboard only succeeded in exposing their lack of tact and diplomacy in the art of the use of stratagem to achieve their targeted political goal.
But the state government noted that while Osun APC is busy complaining about the billboard and Adeleke’s meeting with UK Prime Minister’s trade envoy, government is making waves with concrete outcomes that the trade envoy hailed as a major breakthrough adding that APC is shocked that such productive investment meeting happened right inside the House of Commons.
Rasheed said that the opposition is confused about groundswell of support for Governor Adeleke across party lines and across local and national audience saying that the public at home and abroad are impressed by the huge delivery of the administration across sectors.
