Makinde, MURIC Mourn Buhari’s Death At 82
Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has expressed his condolences to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the death of his predecessor in office, former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Makinde, in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, described Buhari’s death as unexpected, noting, however, that the former president made his mark in serving the country.
He prayed that God gives his family the fortitude to bear the loss, while also granting the former Military Head of State Aljanah Firdaus.
The death has been announced of former President Muhammadu Buhari. He died in a London clinic on Sunday, 13th July, 2025.
In the same vain, an Islamic group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has described his death as a gargantuan loss.
“The late ex-president was one of the few leaders of Nigeria who maintained his dignity till death. Though often misunderstood, Buhari was a complete gentleman who lived a Spartan life in and out of office. His death is a gargantuan loss to the nation as a whole.
“We commiserate with the nuclear and extended members of his family and we pray that Allah will grant them the fortitude to bear the loss. We equally condole with the governor and people of Katsina State as well as Nigerians in general.
