Owa Obokun Endorses Fasuyi Asiwaju Of Ijesaland Title
In a dramatic turn of events, Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Clement Adesuyi, broke his silence on Asiwaju Olayinka Fasuyi, declaring, “Asiwaju of Ijesaland is my own,” at a reception celebrating Asiwaju’s 70th birthday.
The Owa, who arrived late due to traffic jam explained that he finally made it despite his busy schedule to quell speculation about his perceived lack of support for Asiwaju.
The Owa expressed deep admiration for Asiwaju’s selfless efforts in developing Ijesaland, stating, “My love for Asiwaju is deep, more so for his love for Ijesaland’s development.” He praised Asiwaju’s tireless work, questioning whether he even had time for his businesses.
He vowed not to tolerate anyone attempting to run Asiwaju down before him. He said he had noticed a lot of intrigues in the community saying such always slowed down meaningful development.
Declaring his support , the Owa said, “Asiwaju of Ijesaland receives my endorsement for all the things he is doing for Ijesaland… I will continue to support him.”
He said Asiwaju would get his support if he decided to pursue future political ambitions, such as becoming a senator or governor. ” Afterall he is not a prince to say he is doing all these to become Owa”. He urged detractors to abandon their efforts and join forces with Asiwaju to develop Ijesaland, warning against inferiority complexes and tale-bearing.
The Owa noted that nobody is without faults. ” I have invited Asiwaju to let him know what people are saying about him and has promised to make amend. I have not find any wrong about him . He is a honest person “.
Concluding his speech, the Owa invoked traditional prayers, wishing Asiwaju a long life of selfless service, and declaring that any opposition would not prosper. To demonstrate his affection, the Owa danced to Ebenezer Obey’s music, delighting well-wishers.
