Expert Proffers Solution To Incessant Slumping
A medical expert in the department of Community Medicine, Osun State University, Dr. (Mrs) Oyelola Adeoye has attributed most of sudden death by seemingly agile people to care-free attitude to their health conditions by victims.
Adeoye who delivered a lecture titled “Your Health and Your Responsibility” as part of activities for year 2025 end of year programmes of CAC, Oluwasogo, Glorious District, Osogbo said slumping doesn’t happen without warning signals that were ignored.
Apparently worried by recent occurrences of sudden untimely deaths at awkward places, Dr. Adeoye noted that a lot of health challenges that claims lives can be averted if Nigerians would give priorities to their lives and take responsibility for their health and those of others around them.
She warned that money may not save a rich patient who failed to be proactive to what looks like a minor ailments that is allowed to grow to maturity due to lackadaisical attitude of the victim adding that kidney, liver and other organs failures don’t just happen without warning signals.
To maintain a healthy living, the medical expert recommended periodic medical checkup, reduction in fat and salt intake, drinking of at least three bottled water or five sachets of water daily, regular exercise, screening for blood sugar, urine among others at least ones in a year.
She advised people especially the well to do ones to avoid living by context of what people says: “We may be digging our own grave when we live by the context of what people say to us or about us particularly in the area of taking walks, exercises careful dietary because when the consequences of failure to do the needful comes, we will be the one to pay for it”
Dr Adeoye admonished Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper by speaking out when they observed deficiency in the health of their spouses, children, neighbours, co workers among others adding that when they failed to do so, when the consequences knocked, they will have their share.
