Governor Muhammadu Yahaya on Tuesday praised President Bola Tinubu for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre in Kumo, describing the facility as a major step toward improving healthcare delivery and creating employment opportunities for the people of Gombe State.

The governor noted that the Federal Medical Centre, Kumo, has brought tertiary healthcare services closer to residents while also opening up job opportunities for youths across the state.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of Gombe State, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, during the symbolic presentation of 131 employment letters to newly recruited staff, the governor said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to addressing youth unemployment.

“The establishment of the Federal Medical Centre in Kumo is a significant milestone in our collective efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery and expand employment opportunities for our teeming youths.

“We are deeply appreciative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for this intervention, which has not only improved access to tertiary healthcare but has also created meaningful jobs for our people,” he said.

He congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them.

“You must demonstrate diligence, professionalism, and integrity in the discharge of your duties. This opportunity is not just for personal advancement but for service to humanity.

“Be worthy ambassadors of your families and Gombe State. Hard work remains the foundation of success in any endeavour,” he added.
