Mike Jackson To Become Burnley’s Interim Manager

Burnley Football Club have confirmed that Mike Jackson will take interim charge of the team following the departure of head coach Scott Parker.

The club announced that Parker left his role by mutual consent after Burnley’s relegation from the Premier League, with both parties agreeing to part ways after discussions with the board.

In a statement on its official website on Thursday, the club said that Jackson will now step in on a temporary basis as the club looks to finish the season on a positive note.

“Mike Jackson, supported by the existing backroom staff, will take interim charge for the Clarets’ remaining four Premier League fixtures, beginning with Friday’s match away to Leeds United,” the club stated.

Burnley also confirmed that the process of appointing a new permanent head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season is already underway.

The club expressed appreciation for Parker’s contribution, noting that he departs with respect from the organisation.

“The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Scott for his professionalism, dedication and contribution. He leaves with the respect and gratitude of everyone connected with Burnley Football Club.”

Meanwhile, Parker has expressed gratitude to the club, players, and supporters following his exit from Turf Moor.

In a farewell message after leaving by mutual consent, Parker described his time at the club as a privilege.

“It has been an immense privilege to lead this great club over the past two years. I have enjoyed every moment of our journey together, but feel that now is the right time for both parties to move in a different direction,” he said.

The former manager reflected on his achievements, particularly Burnley’s promotion to the Premier League during the 2024/25 season.

“I reflect back with great pride on what we achieved during my time at the club, especially our unforgettable promotion season in 2024/25, and it was a true honour to lead this team into the Premier League,” Parker added.

He also acknowledged the support he received from the club’s leadership and staff.

“I would like to thank Alan and the ownership group for their support during my time at the club. My thanks also go to the fantastic and tireless staff behind the scenes and, most importantly, to the players, who have given me everything since the first day I arrived,” he said.

Parker reserved special appreciation for the fans, wishing the club success in the future.

“Finally, thank you to the Burnley fans. I wish you all and this great club nothing but the very best for the future.”
