Arsenal Agree Terms With Besiktas For Trossard’s Permanent Transfer
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.
The club added that “with a transfer fee agreed, Leo, 31, has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig club.”
The Gunners said a further announcement would be made once the transfer process has been completed.
It added, “We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed.”
The move is expected to bring an end to Trossard’s spell at Arsenal, subject to the successful completion of his medical and other transfer formalities.
In January 2023, Trossard was officially unveiled as an Arsenal player by the North London club.
The 28-year-old player then became Arsenal’s first acquisition of the January transfer window after his signing was completed from Brighton and Hove Albion, and a £27million deal agreed, which was inclusive of add ons.
Trossard leaves as a Premier League champion after helping the Gunners win their first English top-flight title in 22 years last season.
He also lifted the FA Community Shield with Arsenal in 2023 and played a key role in the club’s run to the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final.
On the international stage, Trossard was one of Belgium’s standout performers at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, scoring twice against New Zealand in the group stage as the Red Devils advanced to the quarter-finals, where they were eliminated 2-1 by eventual finalists Spain.
Meanwhile, the Turkish club had acknowledged the arrival of the winger in photo release on his website on Tuesday.
It wrote with the caption, “Leandro Trossard arrives in Istanbul.”
