Pade Okunola Wins Accord Party Primary
*PDP Chairman Congratulates Adeleke
Okunola at the delegate primary polled 141 votes to defeat Mr. Babatunde Loye who polled 58 votes and Mr. Bunmi Ibiloye who polled 12 votes.
“The primary exercise was witnessed by officers of the party from National headquarters led by BOT chairman, Rev. Adeniyi Ojo, North Central Vice-Chairman, Alhaji Saulawa Yusuf, Alhaji Dokun Babarinde, South-West Vice-Chairman, Otunba Segun Fanibe, Chairman, ACCORD Party, Osun State and Mrs.Kikelomo Adebisi and other stakeholders.
Announcing the results; the returning officer of the election, Alhaji Dokun Babarinde implored the winner to be magnanimous in victory.
The State chairman of the party, Otunba Segun Fanibe expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of the election saying all the contestants are qualified to govern Osun State.
In a related development, while the runner up in the Peoples Democratic Party PDP primary election, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi has not made his position known on the conduct of the election, the Chairman of the party, Hon. Soji Adagunodo has congratulated the winner, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
While appreciating his supporters in a statement made available by his Media Assistant, Mr. Lere Fagbola, Ogunbiyi noted that in the face of reported irregularities, he would soon make his position known.
Adagunodo in his congratulatory message urged Adeleke to embrace his co contestants so that a United and formidable PDP might wrestle power from the ruling APC.
